If your living room is on the small side, maybe now is the time for a new lick of paint. Choose softer, pastel colours to make the room appear bigger. If white or cream feel a bit boring why not try a powdery pink like ‘Setting Plaster’ from Farrow and Ball? (Image Farrow and Ball)
Make best use of your furniture by choosing pieces with hidden storage. This footstool from Dunelm can also store books, toys and other clutter and is only £49.
“It’s too early to calculate accurately but our last autumn/winter full oil tank (1800lt) deliveries in 2017/2018 & 2018/2019 were happening every seven weeks. That’s around £800-£900 every 7 weeks!! Granted our AGA is on 24/7 but it uses very little oil in the scheme of things.
Well, it seems our new windows and doors are doing their job just grand. It’s seven weeks since our last full tank delivery & our electronic reader is telling me we’ve only used approximately half a tank!!
If we extrapolate this then a full autumn/winter tank fill up will be occurring every 14 weeks.
This means the heat is being kept inside the barn where it belongs & Alan & I aren’t standing at the door throwing £50 notes out into the wind!!”
Whatever the size of your living room, making the room lighter is a must. It will make the room seem more spacious while adding value to your home.
